My local quilting store has a fun new thing happening called the Culture Club - it's pretty much a way to promote and sell Kaufman's most recent range of fabrics, but it's enjoyable and you get access to some lovely patterns that aren't necessarily available otherwise (all you need to say is "exclusive to members" and I'm all over that stuff) :)
This is my first project! A "relaxation pillow" - it's very sweet, and I love the peacock feather fabric.
Because I'm obsessed with topstitching ALL TEH FINGS I decided to topstitch along the seams. It worked really well til the last one. I almost quailed and copped out - but Nicole Mallalieu and the intrepid skills she shared at her last workshop did me proud in this instance. I just pulled the pillow over the foot of the machine like this:
...made sure that none of the fabric was stuck underneath...
...and peeked down through the little hole left, and stitched it about a centimetre at a time.
There were a couple of messy bits. But it turned out OK. Not perfect. But hey, perfectionism is a fault I'm working on, and I was happy with how it turned out. I can live with a few skewed stitches. :)
