The next step was the all important test run. I don't do a whole lot of test work or visual diary work, as I don't have the time to spend on this level of meticulous work that a professional artist might - time is usually of the essence, and so far I've been pretty happy with the results of holding an idea in my mind and then running with it. I know the visual diary process would be of major importance if I ever wanted to take my work to the "next level" but for now, this is where I am.
So the test run work tends to be fairly light on the ground. A few rough sketches, a square or two to try it out in the colour and fabric I'm thinking of, and off I go.
